Interim Semester

2009 IS Overview:
It is with great pleasure that we present to you this Interim Semester Handbook. The 2009 Interim Semester takes place between February 20th – March 1st 2009 and will represent the 36th year of successful operation of the program. It has become a unique and important feature of the entire Singapore American School experience.

The SAS Board of Governors has shown a commitment to the program by requiring that every faculty member serve as a sponsor and that each eligible student participates in one of the numerous offerings. In addition, each program has an academic component and students are awarded one-quarter credit (upon successful completion) toward SAS graduation requirements.

The options include an array of trips and courses in Singapore and beyond with a range of costs and a variety of activities. This handbook is intended to explain the objectives of Interim Semester, responsibilities of those involved, timeline and registration procedures, safety and insurance information, as well as an overview of each program.

I am very pleased with the offerings we are able to present to you and believe that Interim Semester 2009 will add value to your education at SAS.
