| Jeff Devens serves as the High School Psychologist at Singapore American School. He consults with teachers, administrators and parents, conducts evaluations that address a wide range of educational questions, provides direct services to students and parents on a short term basis, and assists with referrals to other agencies for additional services or when ongoing, long term support is indicated.
Originally from Minnesota (Go Twins!), Jeff and his wife Nanette, who is the High School Choral Director, have lived overseas for the past twelve years. During this time, they have worked in several countries including: China, Saudi Arabia, and most recently Singapore. Working abroad has afforded him opportunities to serve schools in a plethora of roles including: Middle-High Social Studies Teacher; Elementary through Middle School Counselor; and Elementary through High School Psychologist.
Jeff holds a Ph.D. in School Psychology, as well as graduate and undergraduate degrees in School Psychology, Social Studies-Education and Psychology. His dissertation research focused on Depression Rates Among International Students. In addition to research related to depression, he has presented various workshops related to Third Culture Transitions, Parenting Adolescents, Parent / Child Communication, as well as written several articles relating to parenting in general.
