Dawn Betts

  • Grade 9 and 10 Counselor

  • Joined SAS in 2000

  • 21 Years in Education

Dawn Betts joined the high school counseling department in 2006-2007. She had previously been counseling in the SAS middle school and a high school wellness and physical education teacher.

Dawn has two Master’s degrees, one in School Counseling, and is a Nationally Certified Counselor. Dawn has presented at schools and conferences in Southeast Asia on Eating Disorders Treatment and Prevention. She attended the College Board’s Summer Conference for Overseas College Counselors in 2005, and has visited college campuses during the summers of 2005 and 2006. In addition, as the mother of a graduate from the SAS Class of 2006, Dawn has first-hand knowledge about visiting, selecting, and applying to college.

Dawn is the advisor for our Peer Support program that is designed to assist high school students with school related or personal issues and also helps provide support for new students moving to SAS.

Dawn holds memberships in the the Overseas and National Association for College Admission Counseling, The American School Counseling Association, and the National Eating Disorders Association.She can be reached at dbetts@sas.edu.sg.
