Welcome to High School

The Singapore American High School program provides a solid college preparatory program in which students are encouraged and challenged to grow academically and personally. Students select courses from a variety of academic disciplines including English, social studies, mathematics, science, foreign language, business, art, music, technology, home economics, computer science, physical education and health.

ADVANCED PLACEMENT
Advanced placement courses which offer students the opportunity to gain American college credits while in high school are available in a variety of modern languages, English, the sciences, computer studies, mathematics, American and European history, Art History, Art (Drawing), Psychology and Economics. The college preparatory program meets the needs of students planning to attend college or university after graduation.

AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
Through a well-rounded after school program, including a range of varsity and junior varsity sports, dance, drama, and music programs, as well as many clubs and organizations, such as student government, Model United Nations, climbing, French honor society, animation and social services, students are encouraged to expand their horizons both academically and socially.

INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF SOUTHEAST ASIA SCHOOLS (IASAS)
Singapore American School is a member of the International Association of Southeast Asia Schools (IASAS), a group of six international schools that annually holds athletic tournaments, a Cultural Convention and Model United Nations. Through those activities and other exchanges with schools in the area, our students have the opportunity to be involved in activities with their peers from around the region.

INTERIM SEMESTER
For one week during second semester, all regularly scheduled high school courses cease while students and teachers participate in the interim semester program. Students select a course from a wide variety of activities conducted in Singapore, Asia, Australia and Europe. In the past, interim semester has offered SAS students opportunities such as trekking in the Himalayas of Nepal, scuba diving in the Maldives, camping in Australia, traveling the silk road through China, exploring the history of Greece, student teaching at SAS's elementary and middle schools and international cooking, calligraphy, sailing, or golfing in Singapore.
